How our guides are written and checked. Last updated October 5, 2026.
Who writes the guides
The guides on our blog are written and published by Jax Appliance Pros, a locally owned appliance repair company in Jacksonville that launched in September 2026. We are a new company, so the guides do not claim experience we do not have: they explain how appliances work and what their manufacturers say, not stories from past jobs. Field notes from real repairs will be added only when they happen, and only with the customer's permission.
How facts are checked
- Every specific claim, such as an error-code meaning, a reset procedure, a safety rule or a temperature, is checked against a page we opened: the manufacturer's own support pages and manuals, or government and safety sources such as the CPSC, the U.S. Fire Administration, FEMA, USDA and ENERGY STAR.
- The pages we relied on are listed under Sources at the end of each guide.
- If we cannot verify something, we leave it out. Lifespan figures come from a published chart or are labeled as estimates.
- Local facts, such as who supplies the water or power in a town, come from the utility's or government's own page and are cited where they appear.
- Prices in the guides are the ones on our pricing page. The written estimate after a diagnosis is always the price you pay.
Safety rules
- We tell you what is safe to check yourself (breakers, GFCI outlets, filters, settings, cords and hoses you can see) and what is not.
- We never walk readers through work inside a live appliance, on a microwave's high-voltage parts, on refrigerant or on a gas line.
- We repair electric and induction appliances only and do not give gas repair advice. If you smell gas, leave the house and call 911 or your gas utility from outside.
Dates
Published is the date a guide first went live. Updated appears only when we change the substance: facts, steps or advice. Fixing a typo or a link does not change the date.
Images
Most images on this site are illustrations, not photos of our jobs. Their descriptions say what they show, and they will be replaced with real photos as work comes in.
Independence
Jax Appliance Pros is an independent repair company. We are not affiliated with, authorized by or endorsed by any appliance manufacturer, and brand names are used only to identify the appliances we repair. No manufacturer pays for or reviews our guides.
